Mercajucar

MERCAJUCAR is a cooperative since 1999, made up for partners with 40 years of experience in mushroom cultivation and more than 220 workers. We sell champignons and mushrooms throughout Spain and also we have a presence in the foreign market as Portugal and France.

MERCAJUCAR is a specialist in the cultivation of mushrooms rooms thus have at its disposal all the means of climate control and advanced pest and disease control systems. We have several cooling and conservation chambers to keep our products in optimal refrigeration conditions , thus guaranteeing the best quality.

We currently have a total of 66 cultivation halls and an annual production of 6.7 million kilos per year, this we make into one of the largest producers of fresh mushrooms in Spain.

In 2004, a key moment in the history of MERCAJUCAR took place, this year, was the first 24 mushroom production  cultivate rooms were built, moving from the traditional individual plants to a 24 hours concentrated and monitored system, thus implemented the most advanced standards of mushroom production and quality control.

 

Our philosophy has always been to improve day to day, we continue being a reference in the sector and improve our processes keep to the highest quality of our products. As a result of this work MERCAJUCAR progressively increased the number of cultivation rooms of our first production (Dos Encinas) from 24 to 36 in January 2011 and then to 42 in August 2014.

MERCAJUCAR have a wide experience in the mushroom cultivation, work done by our members since 1980 through their own personal plants.

From the experience acquired at this stage MERCAJUCAR Soc. Coop. was started up on December 1, 1999, with the goal of we cultivate and sell products from the cooperative plants, are basing this activity on production and marketing standards that improve the quality of our products.

In 2016 a new cultivation module was built that allows us to increase our production to more than 5 million kilos of mushrooms per year, and then in July 2018 the last extension is carried out to date, with 66 cultivation halls and a production capacity of 6.7 million kilos of fresh mushrooms per year.

In order to guarantee our customers the quality of our products and the control of our production processes, MERCAJUCAR has the international certificate “Global G.A.P.”. (Global Good Agricultural Practice).

 

Global GAP is internationally recognized certificate for agricultural production that guarantees safe and sustainable production for the benefit of producers, retailers and consumers in all the world.

 

Through more than 40 control standards, our Global GAP certificate certifies our clients and consumers the absolute control that MERCAJUCAR imposes in matters such as:

 

– Food safety and traceability

– Environment and resource use.

– Worker health, safety and welfare

– Integrated Crop Management (ICM), Integrated Pest Management (IPM), Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)

– Production efficiency
